Dell Rapids, SD - September 8, 2025 – Nikki Gronli, small business owner and former State Director for USDA Rural Development, today announced her candidacy for South Dakota’s lone U.S. House seat. Gronli will formally launch her campaign on Wednesday, September 10 at 1:30 PM at Holiday Inn City Centre, Skyline Room, 100 W 8th St., Sioux Falls. “I’ve listened to South Dakotans across the state, and their struggles are real,” Gronli said. “Families are being squeezed by tariffs, inflation, and skyrocketing health care costs while our leaders look the other way. South Dakotans deserve someone who will stand up, do the work, and deliver results.” Since April, Gronli has toured the state, hosting town halls and listening sessions to hear directly from South Dakotans. Her campaign will continue traveling to communities, elevating local concerns, and seeking solutions. “This campaign is about restoring trust, listening to people in their communities, and bringing common-sense South Dakota s...

Donald Trump and South Dakota's Republican members of Congress are ripping away critical services that thousands of people rely on. SDPB provides emergency alert systems across South Dakota. This is especially important for our rural areas when severe weather hits. They live stream high school sports that families rely on to watch their children and grandchildren play in other cities. SDPB provides live audio and video from the South Dakota Legislature. This creates transparency within our government and allows people across the state to stay informed. Their journalists deliver trusted news coverage, especially in rural areas of South Dakota that may not receive other broadcast signals. SDPB provides educational programming that are used in schools...
